During my internship I have been very good about speaking up for myself; asking for help when I need it and always explaining my thoughts. Because a lot of my work is dependent on others (meaning I need information from them to complete my tasks) I have gained a lot of courage during my internship. I would rather ask for help than do a terrible job.
From observing others I have noticed how hard this can be in the work world. One must be able to say "no" without offending anyone--"the customer is always right" because no one wants to lose business.
Overall, I think I'm doing a good job at internship. My mentor has told me that she thinks I am mature for my age and I have been following Dr. P's advice for being a successful intern. I constantly have a notebook with me and I make sure that I always have something to do. Because I work in such a small office, it has also been easy to get to know everyone.
