Yesterday was my first day, and it was interesting, to say the least. I started the day by accompanying my mentor on a staff tour of their new exhibits (Nicole Eisenman, Dear Nemesis, Sarah Cain, Blue in Your Body Red When it Hits the Air, and Prospect 2015). The tour was led by the Chief Curator, and that made for a very enjoyable experience. It was a wonderful start.
My internship is at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (MCASD). I found my internship through Lisa Davis, the internship adviser at our school. She put me in contact with my mentor, Cristina Scorza, the Education Curator at MCASD. I will be mainly working at their Downtown location, and will be focusing on the 25 and Under art contest during my internship. I'm not quite sure what to expect, but I hope to see more of the art world and community.
