Yesterday was my first day, and it was interesting, to say the least. I started the day by accompanying my mentor on a staff tour of their new exhibits (Nicole Eisenman, Dear Nemesis, Sarah Cain, Blue in Your Body Red When it Hits the Air, and Prospect 2015). The tour was led by the Chief Curator, and that made for a very enjoyable experience. It was a wonderful start.
My hope was that I would be able to interact with artists and art, and although that doesn't appear to be the case now, I'm still hoping. I'm going to be focusing on the 25 and Under art contest during my internship.
I like the people that I'm working with, and I like the environment. I work in a small office where it's possible to know everyone's name, and they're all very nice.
UPDATE:
As my work on the 25 and Under Art Contest has progressed, I've been given opportunities to interact with artists as I had hoped. Yesterday the installation of the top 25 pieces began, and one of the artists was there to help out. Her piece is a crochet installation that goes in the bathroom.

I loved seeing the work outside of the context of an exhibition, and I've found my conversations (through email) with the top 25 artists to be very interesting--not because of what was said, but because of how much I learned about the process of putting together an exhibition. I've enjoyed working on the 25 and Under Art Contest and I'm glad I was given the opportunity to intern at the Museum.
